Wow. We are delighted to announce that we have been asked to curate the live music at the Whitworth Art Gallery’s upcoming Midsummer House Party on Thursday 24th June. The Whitworth is one of the best galleries in Manchester, and their After Hours events are usually great fun. This one promises to follow suit, as the South Gallery is turned into a houseparty!
We are in charge of the Living Room, where we will be hosting some great music…
In the Pull Yourself Together Living Room…
An evening with Edmund Cottam and Christopher Eatough
An extra special set for After Hours from two of the finest songwriters in the land, playing together. This is going to be super special, as Ed Cottam and Chris Eatough combine forces to play some of each others songs, and a few added extras too.
Chris writes songs for late nights and empty bottles. He has gained favorable comparisons to Ryan Adams, Elliot Smith, Conor Oberst and Sufjan Stevens.
Ed’s storytelling lyrics have a genuine honesty shining through, and this coupled with his tuneful melodies suggests late nights spent listening to and pouring over the lyrics of Leonard Cohen and Nick Cave.
Just imagine how good they are going to be together!
Support comes from Manchester’s finest uke-pop-star, Jam on Bread.

If that isn’t enough, we are going to be spinning some tunes too. AMAZING.
The best part about all this (other than the bands and poetry and dancing and booze in an art gallery) is that it’s FREE!
Make sure to come down, as this will be ACE!
